Southeast LA based soul ensemble, The Altons, are set to release their debut LP with Daptone Records, Heartache in Room 14, on February 14th. Adriana Flores and Bryan Ponce share lead vocals, delivering moody ballads, soulful duets, and Tejano influenced tracks with a Bond-esque psychedelia.

The album includes successful singles released the past few years via Penrose Records, such as “Over and over,” and “Tangled Up in You.” “Over and over” is a soul-drenched ballad that shows the torture of heartache in a cyclic manner. With a driving rhythm section, the song brings a longing sense of repetition and emotional limbo, similar to the feeling of being caught in a love that keeps dragging you back in. The sultry single “Tangled Up in You” contemplates the intoxicating push-and-pull of romance. The dual vocals of Flores and Ponce convey the passion and vulnerability one feels with being emotionally entangled with another human being.

New singles have set the tone for the LP, with four songs being released from October 2024 to January of this year. “De Cielo te Cuido,” which translates to "I'll take care of you from heaven," follows the vulnerable opener, “Waiting.” The soulful “Float” sits in the middle of the album, capturing the feeling of surrendering to love and nostalgia. “Your Light” carries themes of hope and resilience, accompanied by smooth guitar tones.

In support of the album, The Altons have announced the Club Heartache tour in collaboration with their label mates, Thee Sinseers, which will start on February 20, 2025, in Ventura, California.
