Last week, Porridge Radio played their final show in Philadelphia at The Foundry. There was no mention of the news from the stage, but the Brighton band, fronted by Dana Margolin, had revealed ahead of the tour that they were breaking up after their current run of North American shows. Rather than turning into a somber affair, The Foundry was alive with people dancing, swaying, and yelling out their favorite Porridge Radio songs as a bittersweet cloud fell over the night.

They kicked off the set with “Sick of the Blues,” from their latest album, Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me. Notably, the band’s keyboard Georgie Stott wasn't there, “Sadly Georgie won’t be able to make it because her partner still needs a lot of care after an accident in December,” shared the band on Instagram. However, Libby Hsieh stepped in for the tour, and the band sounded as good as ever, playing a collection of songs from throughout their discography.

Another highlight was during the encore when Margolin played a couple of songs solo, including their latest single, “Don’t Want to Dance.” The track is part of their final release as a band, The Machine Starts to Sing, which features songs that were recorded during the sessions for Clouds in the Sky They Will Always Be There for Me.

“This will be the last new music from us as Porridge Radio and marks the end of the band. The songs on this EP are an important part of Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me, and mean as much to us as the 11 songs on the album. We are excited for you to hear them. This band has been our life, we’re family now. These tours will be our last, thanks so much for listening. With love, Dana, Georgie, Sam and Dan,” shared the band in an Instagram post. The EP will be released on February 21 via Secretly Canadian.
